Biomimicry
Biomimicry is made by post-consumer waste sculpted into organic shapes. It shows the artist’s belief in animism and Taoism. Everything is interdependent and interchangeable, and if human could learn from nature, we might be able to find ways to achieve sustainability.
Discarded man-made objects have disrupted the balance of the ecosystem. Nature is often forced to coexist with post-consumer wastes that alter their original appearance. In order to increase sales, many marketing strategies even disguise artificial products as natural and organic items.
In fact, people are subconsciously inclined toward nature and like to mimic things from nature. Scholars point out that the natural environment can effectively reduce human anxiety. What about artificial objects made into organic forms?
